The Moving Up Ceremony will take place on June 8, 2021, for the white group and June 10, 2021, for the green group in the high school Auditorium at 10:00 am. These scouts turned the flag over to James Broussard, George Gregory IV, and Davis Salazar who performed the cutting of the flag.As we near the end of the 2020-2021 school year, I would like to share with you our plans to celebrate the success and accomplishments of our 8th-grade students in the form of a Moving Up Ceremony. The opening ceremony began with the presentation of the colors to be retired by members of the Scout troop, John David Yarborough along with Jeshua and Noah Torres. The Scouts were instructed by their Chartered Organization Representative George Gregory and Scout Master Miguel Salazar. Her objectives included: hosting a flag retirement ceremony, creating a flag retirement ceremony program script, to be shared with others, involve multiple groups participating in the ceremony, and provide a MTA that was open to other DAR members in need of a local MTA for their Members or New Horizons Course. Honorary Regent Anthony Startz coordinated the ceremony as her Capstone project for the New Horizons Course. In total there were 40 people in attendance In addition, San Jacinto Society Children of the American Revolution, friends and family, chapter members and DAR members from three other area chapters participated in the spectacular event.
